Understand Snoring to End It
Before finding a cure for your snoring problem it is important to first know what causes snoring. The sound of snoring is caused by the narrowing or obstruction of the air passages in the throat when sleeping. Sleeping on the back could make the tongue drop to the back of the mouth which obstructs the air passages. Aging makes your throat narrower. Males have narrower air passages than women. Statistics show that more men snore than women. Being overweight could also lead to snoring problems because fat building up at the throat area obstructs the air passages. Smoking weakens and clogs the throat. Relaxants (such as alcohol or drugs) cause relaxation of the throat muscles and this narrows the air passages. Heredity can also be the cause of your snoring problem. Having narrower throat, enlarged adenoids, a cleft palate are some of the hereditary related characteristics which causes narrower air passages that leads to snoring problems.
